The World Goes Boom! Nuclear "Testing"

This is an interesting presentation of the timeline between 1945 and 1998 showing when and where nuclear tests were done along with a running total. The first two minutes are a bit of a bore with the US exploding three bombs, but at minute 2 things heat up and they really get popping from the late 1950s right up to the 1990s. I'm shocked at the fact that the USSR appears to have tested in regions outside the USSR and the US tested in many places around the Pacific rim that were not "national territory". I wonder what kind of "persuasion" was needed to get the local governments to go along with trashing their territory to satisfy superpower interests...

I looked for an English language version of this video but the only one was truncated to 10 minutes. This is a longer version, so I'm posting it.
