Global Cooling?

It is hard to take Global Warming seriously when your local temperature persistently is below historical norms. The white line is the historical normal daytime high, the yellow is the expected daytime high this year:

I know there are two reasons why this year is colder than most:
  • La Niña which makes the Pacific colder and drops the temperatures in the Pacific Northwest:
  • Sunspot minimum which, according to the Solar Variation theory, reduces the radiation to the earth and results in cooler temperatures:

So... despite the Global Warming, it has been a Local Cooling here. But, worldwide this has been a cooler than normal year:

Global temperatures for 2008 will be slightly cooler than last year as a result of the cold La Nina current in the Pacific, UN meteorologists have said.
