Who Says Religion Doesn't Pay?

Or for that matter that crime doesn't pay?

From Forbes Magazine, the list of the richest "Christian" religious leaders in Nigeria:
Bishop David Oyedepo
Affiliation: Living Faith World Outreach Ministry, aka Winners Chapel
Estimated net worth: $150 million

Chris Oyakhilome
Church: Believers’ Loveworld Ministries, a.k.a Christ Embassy
Estimated net worth: $30 million – $50 million

Temitope Joshua
Church: Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN)
Estimated net worth: $10 million – $15 million

Matthew Ashimolowo
Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC)
Estimated net worth: $6 million – $10 million

Chris Okotie
Church: Household of God Church
Net worth: $3 million -$10 million
These holy men take Jesus's sayings very, very seriously. Mark 10:25:
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
They've taken on the painful duty of sucking up all the money in their congregation and their community to ensure that there are no "rich men" who would lose their souls. They've gathered up all this earthly wealth to protect those weak of the flesh and prone to temptation. They want their flock to make it into the kingdom of God, so they've sucked all this money up. Right?

With a few more brave souls like this, Africa can be protected from the temptations of filthy lucre. Sure it will remain destitute, ignorant, hopeless. But these preachers know that Jesus loved the humble. So these preachers are delivering up their flock to God as broke, stupid, and desperate as they can make them by suckering them out of every loose dollar they may have!
