Will Democracy Come to Wisconsin?

Seems that the Egyptian protests are having effects all around the world and not just in Arab countries. It has demonstrators out on the streets in Wisconsin!

Here's a very good video from MSNBC's The Ed Show which points out that Obama and the rest of the national Democrats are not supporting unions. Incredible!

When Obama ran for president in 2008 he pull off a real joke on the American people. He sold the idea of "change you can believe in" but he's governed like he was a 1970s Republican. He ran as a left-of-centre Democrat but he's governing right-of-centre. What the American people got in 2008 was a "pig in the poke". And they are now stuck with that surprise. Tragedy!

Update 2011feb17: Here is a video of demonstrators in the capital building:

I'm guessing that Scott Walker will do a Mubarak imitation and unleash his goons on camel back with whips to come in and put fear into these demonstrators' hearts.

Or do as Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa has done in Bahrain, unleash the military on the protestors, kill a few, scatter them, and crush the foolish thought of bringing democracy to a key country where the US has stationed its 5th Fleet.

It is good to see that Obama is consistent. He is dithering about democracy in Wisconsin like he was dithering about democracy in the Middle East. He's been meeting with his advisors to sort out if federal interests in a "secure and stable" Wisconsin will trump an interest in having real democracy in Wisconsin. As everybody knows, since Wisconsin the the cheese capital of the US, it is an essential US national interest to insure an uninterrupted flow of cheese to the rest of the nation. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a little democracy on the alter of the "national interest". Trust Obama to 'worry' this question like a dog on a bone.
