Here is a very interesting talk by Wade Davis:
Any and all of his books are well worth reading! I enjoy his enthusiasm for humanity's diversity, but I don't buy his view that these primitive cultures can teach us "profound truths". They are interesting, they have wonderful elaborations, and they have knowledge relevant for their primitive life style, but they are not pointing at the future. They are like quaint groups like the Amish or Mennonites who have withdrawn from modernity to practice some quasi-19th century version of civilization.
