Seeing the Future by Looking Backwards

Sadly with the market collapse we are seeing "the future" as a repeat of the past. The following video gives a sense of what lies ahead. As the philosopher George Santayana said "Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it." Well, the US elected an anti-intellectual mental midget who has marched the world into the 1929 of the past. Now we all must now dig ourselves out of the mess. We got here because ideologues like Bush, the radical Republicans, the Milton Friedmanites, and the Libertarians demanded "small government" and "deregulation". Their blind love of "free markets" and their rejection of the legitimate role of government as the framework for civilization has led us to this sorry situation...
