Here is an interesting discussion of the current finanical crisis held at Yale held on April 14, 2009.
It is attended by Robert Shiller, John Geanakoplos, and moderated by Richard Levin, the president of Yale and an economist.
As Levin points out, all of these Yale economists are students of James Tobin, a great economist of the 20th century. These and the other notable critics of the Bush/Obama approach to the financial crisis share the fact that they were students of Tobin.
The first speaker is Robert Shiller and he talks about his new book "Animal Spirits" (co-written with George Akerlof) which is an excellent discussion of the fear, panic, and greed that unlays bubbles and panics. His talk lasts until minute 25 and the best bit of the presentation.
