Shiller on Housing & the Economy

If you listen carefully he isn't worried about a "housing bubble". He is worried about a very slow recovery. He wants more stimulus. He wants more action to prevent rising inequality in the US.

He isn't worried about "inflation" or "too much debt" as the crazy right wing wants to use as a club against those who want the economy to recover:

Where I part company with him: he is against a government health plan. Sadly, private enterprise will never properly cover people. You need universal government coverage to keep the insurance companies from playing games. I am astonished at how the US continues to march to a different drummer on this issue. Americans should be upset that they pay nearly twice as much as other advanced countries and have worse health outcomes. I find it funny to hear the debate about "finding money" to fund health care. Actually, if the US did public healthcare properly, it would generate hundreds of billions by eliminating the waste and fraud and duplication in the US system.
