Notice how Bush from 2001-2008 heaped up deficits. The old saying about "saving for a rainy day" never rattled around in Bush's empty head. His ideology was to push government into debt to prevent any attempt to expand government programs in the future. He never considered that the US might fall into a "Great Recession" because of his idiotic mishandling of the economy and need the ability to borrow to get the economy back on track. Instead, he wrecked the place and left a big pile of problems for Obama to clean up.
