If you look at the emergency of democracy in ancient Greece it was a fight against an entrenched aristocracy. That's exactly how modern democracies emerged. And ancient Greece's history is filled with tales of how aristocrats conspired and oligarchies or tyrants seized power back from democrats. The modern history of democracy mirrors this as well.
So here's a lesson in democracy in a nutshell:
History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme. Wisconsin is our looking glass to peer into the tumult of ancient Greece. Will the people win, or will the oligarchical Republicans, the representatives of aristocratic wealth, win?
