I'm Glad I Don't Write about Inorganic Chemistry

That's a quote taken from this interesting lecture given by Carl Zimmer at the 2010 meeting of the American Society for Microbiology. This video is from Zimmer's blog The Loom. Watch it and find out why Zimmer would make such an odd comment:

Zimmer tells some exciting stories about science, but the focus of his talk is on "writing science". He covers this from many angles while telling you about the colours of feathered dinosaurs, parasites that seize and control the mind of their prey, the wonderful world of E. Coli, New Age mumbo-jumbo, creationism, and right wing fundamentalism. Quite a smorgasbord of topics. Lots of fun!
