What bothers me is that this jerk pontificates on taking security "seriously". This from a guy in an administration that within a year saw over 3,000 Americans killed because they ignored the Presidential Daily Briefing of August 6, 2001 warning them that Al Qaeda was determined to attack the US:
Clandestine, foreign government, and media reports indicate bin Laden since 1997 has wanted to conduct terrorist attacks in the US. Bin Laden implied in U.S. television interviews in 1997 and 1998 that his followers would follow the example of World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Yousef and "bring the fighting to America."Why does this jerk get air time when his own eight years in power were marked by mistake after mistake. Why listen to this guy talk about security when his eight years was marked by the greatest number of deaths from an attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor in 1941? Why listen to this guy when his own thuggish "torture now, torture forever" policies recruited more terrorists than any other American policy?
...
Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings in New York.
What disgusts me is that this failed fool wants to thump his chest and claim "success" when in fact his administration was probably the worst in American history:
Former vice president Dick Cheney, in an exclusive appearance on ABC News' "This Week," offered a sharp critique of the Obama administration's handling of national security and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, saying any achievements over the past year largely stemmed from policies implemented under President George W. Bush.Has this guy no shame? Is he so blighted he can't understand his place in history as the laughingstock of ineptitude and cynical "patriotism"? The attack into Iraq meant Afghanistan is still a failed state 9 years after the fact. It means that Iraq created a hundred times more terrorists than existed prior to the new "Bush doctrine" of attack first and check facts second.
I am simply appalled by the pompous nonsense this guy spouts and the fact that some fools take him seriously.
