Uyghur Clashes

The news out of China is confused. The Chinese government wants to present the current problems as Al Qaeda stirring put the Uyghur minority. The little Western reporting that comes out of Xinjiang implies that the Han majority and the Uyghur minority are caught in large scale race rioting. It isn't clear what started it. The Chinese government has moved in large numbers of soldiers to suppress the rioting.
