Funny. The elite set a style of ordering bottled water to show how chichi they were. But then the masses started copying the top dogs. So the elite have turned and now make fun of those who carry water bottles and declare this to be gauche because it fails to "respect the environment".
I never drank bottled water. But I object to the manipulation of "styles" and "trends" by the elite to ensure that they are always "ahead of the curve" while the great mass of unwashed as laughed at as "behind the times".
Here's part of the big publicity campaign to teach average Joes that they have to give up bottled water because it is so "untrendy"...
I hated the trend to bottled water because it threatened the public water system: a system that improved health immeasurably. But I despise the rich for playing their games of "I'm more trendy than you". And I especially despise the above "politically correct" video that tells ordinary people that they are idiots and positively evil for doing exactly what the rich did 20 years ago. Where's the video telling us that having 3 or 4 homes or a yacht bigger than most ferry boats is "environmentally unfriendly"? Where are the videos to tell you that flying 3000 miles every few months to "get away from it all" or "spend quality time" with your richest 20 buddies is "environmentally unfriendly"?
