Consumerism Gone Mad

I remember the day I had the scales fall off my eyes as a consumer. I was in a high school chemistry class and the teacher pointed out that as a consumer you should check the ingredients and go buy the generic version of whatever glop the big corporations are selling you. That was nearly 50 years ago.

Obviously this message hasn't gotten through to the average American consumer. Here's my proof:
